Mohamed Masroor

My name is Mohamed Masroor and I  have specialized in teaching High School Math and Sciences since 2015. I've taught 100s of students having a variety of backgrounds, learning styles, motivations, and goals. How I'm able to do this is simply because my teaching style is adaptive -one that is based on YOUR child's needs, not mine.

Unfortunately, with the significant push for post-secondary education, not enough is being done at the high-school level to prepare students for this daunting challenge.  It is my passion to prep these students not only on the essential foundations but the life-long learning skills they'll have to depend on as well.

However, tutoring is not a magic fix, and getting to your goal is not often easy. But if you're willing to put in the work, stay motivated, and persevere through the challenges, we can achieve excellence together!

Building The Foundation

Learning any subject with gaps in your foundation is like building a tower with missing bricks.

The first step to providing any kind of academic support is assessing the student and finding THOSE GAPS IN THE FOUNDATION. The key, however, is to throughly build these foundations while still making it relavent to what they're currently learning.

Teaching Through Questions

Research has shown that one of the most effective ways of learning is through "ACTIVE LEARNING".

Active learning occurs when the mind is constantly being engaged while trying to understand a subject. One of the best ways to do this is by "TEACHING THROUGH QUESTIONS". I ask the questions and encourage your child to learn by forming connections with what they already know to new applications. The result is a more holistic learning experience that simply sticks long term!

Learning How to Learn

While one of the goals is to get superb marks, it shouldn't be the only one you focus on. LEARNING EFFECTIVELY is just as important as learning!

At MasTech, this means building a strong work ethic, using different learning strategies, tackling test anxiety, etc. Furthermore, students are constantly encouraged to question WHY they are learning something in addition to the HOW. While these study skill help you get great makes, they are also exceptionally important in college/university.
